How Binero works

A logic puzzle with two symbols and three rules. No arithmetic, and no guessing needed.

  1. No three in a row. You may not place three equal digits next to each other, horizontally or vertically.
  2. Equal numbers. Every row and every column contains as many 0s as 1s.
  3. No equal lines. No two rows are the same, and no two columns are the same.
  4. Playing. Tap a square to cycle empty, 0, 1. The numbers given at the start are fixed.

Frequently asked questions

What are the rules of Binero?

Every square holds a 0 or a 1. No more than two of the same digit may be next to each other in a row or a column. Each row and column has the same number of 0s and 1s. No two rows are identical, and no two columns are identical.

Is Binero the same as Takuzu and Binairo?

Yes. Binero, Binairo, Takuzu and the binary puzzle are different names for the same game, which uses only two digits.

How do you play it?

Tap a square to cycle through empty, 0 and 1, or select it and use the 0 and 1 keys. Squares that are part of the starting puzzle cannot be changed. Squares that break a rule turn red.

What sizes are there?

Easy is 6 by 6, medium is 8 by 8 and hard is 10 by 10. Every puzzle has exactly one solution that you can reach by logic, without guessing.

What strategies work?

Look for two equal digits side by side: the squares on both ends must be the opposite digit. Look for a gap between two equal digits (1 _ 1): the middle must be the opposite. When a line already has its full share of one digit, the rest are the other.

Is there a daily Binero?

Yes. Press Daily for the puzzle that is the same for everybody today, and sign in to put your time on the leaderboard.

Can I get help?

Hint fills in one square and Check shows the squares that are wrong.
